Epic has developed a comprehensive benefits program that allows employees to maintain healthy personal and professional lives.
Epic offers three low-cost, high quality health insurance plans through Group Health Cooperative, Dean, and Physicians Plus. You will be covered from your first day of employment, with no pre-existing condition clauses. Full prescription coverage, vision exams and preventive dental cleanings are among the benefits offered by our health insurance providers. Epic also offers a separate comprehensive dental plan with a discount vision option at a low monthly rate, as well as a flexible spending plan. This allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars for medical and child care expenses, as well as health and dental insurance premiums. All deductions are exempt from federal, state and FICA taxes. Additional benefits include free on-site flu vaccinations each year.
Epic provides two weeks of paid vacation in each of your first two years. You'll get three weeks of vacation each year thereafter. Epic employees also receive six paid full-day holidays and three paid half-day holidays each year. You will also earn six sick days a year to take when you need it. In addition, you have the option of taking unpaid leave.
Sabbaticals are four weeks of paid time off (in addition to your normal vacation time) to do whatever you want. Employees are eligible for sabbaticals every five years. If you choose to spend your sabbatical in a country you have never been to before, most of the flight and hotel expenses for you and a companion will be covered by Epic.
Epic's 401(k) offers a choice between a traditional and Roth plan, provides a variety of funds to invest in, and allows you to contribute up to 100% of your income. Epic may also match a portion of your contributions.
Epic staff members are bright, engaging, and committed to excellence. Bonuses are awarded on the basis of individual and company performance.
Epic employees who travel for work can keep any accrued frequent flyer miles and hotel points for personal use. Frequent travelers get travel bonuses for time spent onsite with customers.
You may become eligible for stock appreciation rights after full time employment for the majority of our fiscal year. As a stock appreciation rights (SAR) holder, you are able to attend shareholder meetings and share financially in the growth of Epic by receiving the value of increases in the stock price. Over the last 10 years, Epic's stock price has increased by a compound annual growth rate of 47%.
You'll automatically receive free life insurance coverage from Epic after one month of employment. Epic also offers you supplemental life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and short term disability insurance at minimal cost.
Every year, Epic creates a list of charitable organizations. Each employee then chooses one or more organizations on the list, and Epic makes a donation on their behalf to each organization. We also work with our customers and local organizations on other giving initiatives.

Epic offers an interest free loan to any employee interested in purchasing a home computer, paid through payroll deductions. You are eligible for the loan after six months at Epic.
We work to further your professional development through our Continuing Epic Education program (CEE). All new employees take part in our extensive orientation courses, including certification in Epic software. After orientation, each employee can continue his/her professional development through seminars and other conferences. Employees can also earn bonuses for getting additional Epic certifications. Our library of books and audio/video courses is a convenient resource for Epic employees.
